ARTIST PROFILE

Etienne Marquis is a channel island based artist whose work explores the twisted and visionary world of contemporary surrealism through the medium of oil paints. His hands-on techniques derive from traditional 16th century process of the old masters which are utilised to portray the contemporary contexts of his work. A marriage of the old and the new.

His work embodies a gateway between the physical realm and that of the mind alongside the sifting landscapes of his upbringing in the channel islands and his explorations on the Cornish Coast

After graduating from Falmouth University in 2024 with first class honours, Etienne has gone on to exhibit work in galleries throughout Cornwall, London and the Channel Islands as well as being featured in a number of local international publications.
